AWS Fundamentals – Introducing Cloud Computing to Beginners was a foundational session where I served as the speaker, with the objective of helping students and early-stage developers understand the core building blocks of cloud computing using Amazon Web Services. During the session, I explained essential cloud concepts such as compute, storage, networking, security, and scalability, and mapped these concepts to real AWS services. I covered EC2 for compute and virtual machines, S3 for object storage, RDS for managed relational databases, IAM for identity and access management, and VPC for networking and isolation within the cloud. I focused on explaining how these services work together in real-world architectures—for example, how EC2 instances interact with S3 for storage, how RDS fits into application backends, and how IAM and VPC play a critical role in securing cloud resources. Instead of diving into advanced configurations, I emphasized conceptual clarity, common use cases, and best practices to help participants understand why each service exists and when it should be used. As a speaker, my goal was to reduce the initial learning barrier around AWS and provide attendees with a clear mental model of cloud infrastructure. By the end of the session, participants had a solid understanding of AWS fundamentals and a confident starting point for further hands-on learning, projects, and certification-oriented preparation.
